Legend of the Galactic Heroes New Thesis Comes Back in Early 2022

Generally speaking, anime reboots don’t tend to go well. Themost common problem they face is retaining that “it” factor that the original had.

Somehow, Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These manages to retain that and build upon it with better production quality.

After two successful seasons of the New Thesis, LOGH is back with a third.

The official website for Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These has released a teaser trailer for the anime’s third season.

It is titled Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Gekitotsu (Legend of the Galactic Heroes: The New Thesis Clash).

The trailer opens up with Reinhard holding up his locket over Barbarosa, repeating his promise to himself. We then see some space battles and Julian getting ready for possibly his first flight.

The third season will be released as a three-part theatrical feature that will open on March 4, April 1, and May 13, 2022. It will be broadcasted as a 24-episode television series split into two cours at a later date.

A visual for the upcoming season was also released.

Reinhard and Yang continue on a long road drawn by the twinkling galaxy. Behind them are the ships of the Empire and the Alliance. The visual that depicts the beginning of a new story that weaves history has been lifted.

Even with almost 50 more episodes worth of content to cover, you never know when to expect a LOGH New Thesis sequel. The previous seasons have had irregular delays due to production issues.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is a series of science fiction novels written by Yoshiki Tanaka. An anime adaptation of the novels, produced by Kitty Films, ran from 1988 to 1997. A new anime adaptation by Production I.G began in April 2018.

In humanity’s distant future, two interstellar states – the monarchic Galactic Empire and the democratic Free Planets Alliance – are embroiled in a never-ending war.
