The storyline of Monthly House
If I had to explain this in one line then it would be two-pole opposites people fall in love while searching for a home. The reason why I said poles apart people because the lead actors Na Young Won and Yoo Ja Sung are playing roles of two people with opposite mindsets when it comes to the definition of a house and when it comes to lifestyle or career. You know what they say, opposites attract!
Yoo Ja Sung is a self-made CEO because he grew up poor and was determined to change his fate. By studying during the day, working as a restaurant part-timer, and a designated driver at night, and working at construction sites during weekends, Yoo Ja Sung cut down on his sleep time to self-study real estate, eventually becoming an investment expert and wealthy man owning property worth ten billions of won in real estate. House for him is just an asset in investment and a place to sleep.
Na Young Won is a magazine editor at one of Yoo Ja Sung magazine company and has been working for the last 10 years, she is also living alone for 10 years in a rented house. Isn’t it ironic she has been editing for a monthly house magazine but has never owned a house to date? This thing didn’t hit until her new evil house owner arrived and she finally decided to own a house. She has been taking care of the rented place as if it was hers and according to her home is a place for her to be herself and where she can be at peace. Her home reflects her emotions and personality.
They meet in the process when she starts to show interest in real estate and develops an unexpected romance.
We also have Shin Gyeom who is a camping fanatic and lives life by the principle of ‘you live only once.
