‘Muv-Luv Alternative’ S2 Gets Exciting New Theme Songs

Muv-Luv Alternative is probably one of the few stories that perfectly portrays all aspects of war. Be it violence, suffering, politics, and philosophies, this anime has it all.

Despite brilliant writing and story, the show sadly remains underrated and unheard of. However, the fan base is strong enough for the franchise to renew it for a second season.

With a new season come new songs to jam to. Similarly, Muv-Luv Alternative season 2 has some new tunes to show off in the anime’s latest trailer.

The opening theme song is ‘Akatsuki o Ute’ (Shoot the Dawn), performed by the musical unit JAM Project and singer Minami Kuribayashi. Virtual singer group V.W.P. performs the anime’s ending theme, ‘Saikai’ (Reunion), as seen in the video.

Crunchyroll will stream the upcoming season worldwide from October 5. I hope you all have renewed your subscriptions, or you will miss out on this masterpiece.

Sumika expresses how she cannot see a future without Takeru, even though it means she’ll live in a world without BETA. Takeru is seen contemplating his choices regarding saving the world and Sumika.

While he is adamant about his duty towards the world and destroying the BETA, he can’t help but think about other possibilities. At the same time, Yuuko is seen developing and launching a new weapon capable of inflicting large-scale damage.

With an intense conclusion of sick beats and vast amounts of bloodshed, the trailer confirms that the season will leave no room for criticism.

Let’s see how Takeru handles the challenges lined up for him this time.

About Muv-Luv

Muv-Luv is originally an adult game that was released for Windows in the year 2003.

It consists of two parts: Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited. It was later adapted into a Japanese visual novel developed by age 2003. The game was followed by a sequel, Muv-Luv Alternative.

The Muv-Luv franchise is also home to several other styles of games, many manga spin-offs, and anime series such as “Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse” (2012) and “Schwarzesmarken” (2016).

In Muv-Luv Alternative, the protagonist Takeru wakes up three years after the end of the previous adaptation, Muv-Luv Unlimited, and finds himself back in his room.

He initially thinks that it was all a dream until he leaves his house to find that he has traveled back in time to when the events in Unlimited first began.

Unable to accept Alternative V, he aids professor Kouzuki in saving mankind by completing Alternative IV.
