Netflix Brings Back ‘Kengan Ashura’ with Season 2 in 2023

If you’re a fan of Baki, then you’ll absolutely love Kengan Ashura. It brings the same type of energy and themes that can easily excite any otaku who’s boxing or martial arts lover.

Netflix streamed the anime’s first season in 2019, which became an instant hit among fans. Soon the pandemic came, putting the show on hold without any information on another season, that is until now.

With a visual featuring the protagonist Ohma Tokita and Kazuo Yamashita, Netflix has confirmed Kengan Ashura’s return with season 2 in 2023.

Last season ended with one of Ohma’s most intense and brutal fights. In that round against Raian Kure, not just Ohma’s but Kenzo Yamashita’s life was also on the line.

Being a notorious clan of assassins, the Raian’s grandfather Erioh received a request to assassinate Kazuo’s son Kenzo. This coincided with Ohma’s fight with Raian, where the pressure increased after knowing that Kenzo’s life was also in danger.

However, Ohma turned the tide with the Niko style that he learned from his master, ending the fight with a bloody and glorious victory. As their battle ended, Ohma’s next potential opponent, Wakatsuki Takeshi, got ready to fight him.

The upcoming season will most likely pick up right where they left off and give us a good number of episodes showing Julius and Takeshi’s fight. Moreover, it will also uncover their mysterious pasts.

Next season might not start with Ohma’s fight but will definitely give us a battle of similar caliber and also decide the protagonists’ next opponent.
