Netflix Streamed New Trailer for ‘Lookism’ Ahead of Premiere

Korean webtoon ‘Lookism’ addresses serious problems like bullying and self-hatred in the best way possible. Frankly speaking. the protagonist, Park Hyung Seok, is obese, weak, and ugly. Bullies are attracted to him like moths to a flame.

After struggling with severe bullying, he suddenly wakes up in a different body. No, he didn’t get isekaid due to truck-kun’s mercy; he just suddenly has a new body that is a hundred times more handsome than his original one.

The anime adaptation of Lookism took webtoon fans by storm when it was suddenly announced in September. Netflix will stream the anime on November 4, 2022, so not much time is left before its debut.

To understand how Park Hyung Seok’s body-switching works, you have to check out the latest trailer for the series:

Hyung Seok wakes up in an upgraded body, but his old one hasn’t vanished either. When one body falls asleep, he switches to the other one. This way, he can keep working while his body rests.

Of course, everyone likes this hot new boy in school. Hyung Seok slowly realizes the difference someone’s appearance can make.

Rather than just enjoying this golden opportunity, he decides to change himself for real. Since he knows the pain of being bullied and oppressed, he gives a helping hand to those who can be helped.

Lookism will be available in Japanese, Koran, and English, judging from the series receiving trailers in all three languages.

Since the franchise started serialization in 2014, it has received 8.7 billion views globally, and it was a matter of time before it adapted to other media types. Although the anime announcement was sudden and unexpected, it is lovely to see Lookism get the attention it deserves.
