As Eiichiro Oda’s culture-defining series celebrates its upcoming volume 100 of the manga and episode 1000 of the anime, the hype among fans is beyond belief, and the live-action series is a well-deserving cherry on top.

Netflix released the 3D logo for the One Piece live-action series on Friday (September 4) and shared a photo of the first episode script titled “Romance Dawn.” Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, the writers and producers, are credited with the first episode’s script.

The Tweet was shared with the famous quote, “no matter how hard or how impossible it is, never lose sight of your goal,” from Monkey D. Luffy himself. The 3D logo is a faithful recreation of the iconic design by mangaka Eiichiro Oda.

Everything from the straw hat skull to the anchor like “E” indeed reassures everyone that Netflix is doing everything to keep the live-action series rooted to its origin.

As for the script, “Romance Dawn” is the title of the first chapter of the manga series and Oda’s one-shot that served as an early version of the series.

Though Netflix hasn’t shared the cast details, the script’s existence necessitates having a cast to read it, so more news is likely to drop quite soon.

Frustrating as the wait is, Netflix might require some time to premiere the series because One Piece is not like other franchises. With more than a decade of the tale to tell, the streaming site can’t mess it up as it did with Full Metal Alchemist and Death Note.

About One Piece

One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997.

The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age!

Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. His diverse crew is joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
