Vanitas and Noel are about to face a new foe, but this time, it will be more challenging than before as the next enemy isn’t just a mindless killing machine. Yes, I’m talking about the beast itself, which has a complicated backstory that will be revealed soon.
The second cour of The Case Study of Vanitas will be released on January 14, 2022. A new trailer has been revealed to give us a glimpse into the upcoming arc.
The trailer gives us the first look at the “Beast of Gevaudan,” a giant wolf-like creature with six eyes. As ferocious as the beast looks, this isn’t her actual appearance. Beneath the spiky fur lies Chloe, a curse-bearer.
She has killed various people, because of which she has been targeted by humans and vampires alike. Unfortunately, the person who was given the responsibility to kill her was Jean-Jacques, her lover.
The new visual teases both Chloe and Jean along with the main characters of the anime:

The Case Study of Vanitas is ready to grab our attention with an exciting arc. Chloe and Jean will definitely add a bit more of an oomph factor to the already pleasant anime.
Soon, Jean will be stuck in a dilemma as he can’t kill Chloe, but neither can he abandon his responsibility. Only the further episodes can clarify what Jean will prioritize in the end.
About The Case Study of Vanitas
The Case Study of Vanitas manga is created by Jun Mochizuka. It started serialization in the Monthly Gangan Joker magazine in December 2015. It is receiving an anime adaptation in July 2021.
Noe, a young vampire, is in search of a cursed book called The Book of Vanitas. However, on his flight to Paris, he comes face to face with Vanitas and realizes that he is a self-proclaimed vampire doctor.
Somehow Noe ends up as Vanitas’ partner to heal vampires who are going feral under an evil influence.
