One Piece Chapter 1081: Summary
After the events of Garp’s Galaxy Impact attack in the previous issue, this one picked up right where it left off. Interspersed with this primary focus is talk from various SWORD members, including Garp complaining that he’s losing his edge. Koby and Hibari then start walking toward Garp, when all of a sudden Kuzan appears and freezes the girl solid.
Kuzan says that he can’t risk Koby getting away while Blackbeard’s not around. This triggers a flashback to a year ago, when he fought Akainu. Kuzan and the Blackbeard Pirates are having a drink and chatting in a New World tavern when the topic of the Road Poneglyphs comes up. The fourth and final Road Poneglyph is supposedly located with a man known as “Burn Scar,” who pilots a pitch-black spacecraft and utilizes whirlpools to engulf anyone who gets too close.
As the flashback concludes, Blackbeard invites Kuzan to join his crew. In the present, Kuzan tries to corner Garp, but Garp uses his Blue Hole strike to break free and send Kuzan tumbling into a crack in the earth. After this, we jump to Winner Island, where Blackbeard has just finished off Law and the rest of his crew. Bepo takes an experimental medicine that Chopper developed to transform into Sulong to save Law from having his Fruit taken.
One Piece Chapter 1082: What Can We Expect?
Kuzan’s return will likely serve as the prologue to the future release, which will focus mostly on a battle scene between Garp and Kuzan. The fact that the issue is scheduled for official distribution after a weeklong hiatus from publication lends credence to this theory. Oda has plenty of time to create a huge combat scene, so it’s likely to appear in the next issue.
One Piece Chapter 1082 may take an unexpected turn for a brief trip to Egghead Island to reveal which member of the Blackbeard Pirates is headed to the island in the last seconds. The only two people who haven’t been spotted on Winner Island or Hachinosu are Laffitte and Catarina Devon, therefore it’s likely that they’ll show up on either Laffitte’s Fifth Ship or Devon’s Sixth Ship.
