RE-MAIN Anime’s New PV Reveals Minato’s Tragic Past And Memory Loss

Nothing is better than taking a dip in the pool to beat the summer heat. RE-MAIN, an upcoming anime about water polo by MAPPA, is exactly what we needed this summer.

MAPPA was hailed as the savior of 2020. It gave us several hit anime titles and the most anticipated seasons, and it isn’t stopping there. It is now bringing us a sports anime as well!

The upcoming sports anime RE-MAIN released the 2nd PV for the show premiering on July 4th, 2021.

It features the protagonist of the series, Minato Kiyomizu, one of the finest water polo players in middle school.

However, due to an accident one day, he went into a coma. He wakes up 203 days later with all of his middle school memories gone.

Minato contemplates playing the sport again. Though still confused about the matter, he still joins the team in his new school, Yamanami High School, after his new friends urge him.

The trailer then introduces us to all of his new team members. Some of them are lively and friendly, while others are rather cold towards Minato’s unresolved attitude towards the sport.

Minato’s backstory is tragic and might become the center of his motivation. There also may be a possibility of him ruining a vital match because of the trauma of his accident.

It is not easy to get back up, but like in all sports anime, they will overcome this hurdle as well.

And yes we can expect many scenes that will make us cry, grab the edge of our seats, and give goosebumps!
