Rookie Singer, CIEL, to Perform Theme Song for Pompo: The Cinephile Movie!!

Pompo: The Cinéphile, the manga about a cute-looking B-grade movie producer, is getting the film treatment this summer alongside a theme song by a rookie!!

The film was slated to open in 2020, but was delayed to a March 19, 2021 opening due to “various circumstances” and then delayed again to a June 4 opening due to the spread of the new coronavirus disease.

Pompo: The Cinéphile movie will show us the craft of movie-making and revolves around Joelle Davidovich “Pompo” Pomponette, a talented movie producer who looks like a girl.

Vocaloid musician Iori Kanzaki has written three songs for the film. The first is the insert song “For Example” performed by the virtual diva Kaf, which is featured in the film’s trailer.

You also have EMA of the virtual act DUSTCELL performing another insert song, “We the Rebels,” and actress Seiko Niizuma performing the movie’s opening song “Dance On Fire.”

About Pompo: The Cinéphile

Pompo: The Cinephile is an upcoming anime film under studio CLAP. Sugitani released the original manga on the pixiv website starting in 2017.

The film is set in the fictional film industry of “Nyallywood”. Gene Fini is an aspiring producer who works under Pompo who is a talented movie producer.

Pompo hasn’t been having much success with her recent films. When Gene stumbles across a script by Pompo, he marvels at it.
