Ryusui Entrusts his Role to Stanley for Moon Mission in Dr. Stone Ch. 221
With planning great missions, comes great responsibility.
When dealing with projects that involve things like outer space and complex rocket ships, even exceptional minds like those in Dr. Stone can’t be ten billion percent sure about most things.
The manga recently finalized on the three astronauts for the moon mission, and though surprising, fans were satisfied with the choices.
But some were doubtful whether the chosen candidates were the best suited for this mission, and they weren’t the only dubious ones.
In a surprising turn of events, the ever so confident and ambitious Ryusui had a moment of hesitation. He finally got over his dilemma, and his decision proved to be a bit heartbreaking for himself and all his fans.
In Dr. Stone’s manga chapter 221, Ryusui decided to give up his rocket ship’s pilot position to Stanley Snyder.
Everyone familiar with Dr. Stone knows that Ryusui and second thoughts don’t go together, but this time, the entire humankind is at stake. And so, the young pilot gave into his predicament.
Ryusui’s choice has been tough on all of us, and especially him because everyone knows just how excited he was to pilot the spaceship. He might not like his decision, but he knows it has to be done.
This chapter also shows how much Ryusui has grown and how mature he’s become.
Most of us used to think of him as a selfish person who wanted to contribute only for his gain, but this single decision shattered all of those false assumptions about the guy.
Moreover, we also witnessed the young pilot crying his heart out for the first time. We never expected this emotion from the loud and cheerful Ryusui, but I guess everyone has their moments of weakness.

Ryusui’s sudden character development might prove to be a catalyst in strengthening his bond with his brother Sai.
