Sentai Acquires Distribution Rights for Romcom Anime, My Little Monster

What happens when two people who are polar opposites fall for each other? My Little Monster takes us on the rollercoaster romance and friendship of Shizuku and Haru as they both try to understand each other.

Hiro Kaburaki’s My Little Monster has the perfect ratio of romance, comedy, and slice of life. 

As someone who’s a rom-com junkie, I strongly recommend this anime to everyone who loves the genre.

On April 19, 2021, Sentai Filmworks announced that they had acquired the digital and distribution rights to the anime, My Little Monster. 

The anime will be released for the fans in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, and all the Nordic and Scandinavian countries.

The company announced that the anime would be available on select digital outlets in the countries listed.

Moreover, the information about the release date of the rom-com series hasn’t been made public yet.

The series has a total of 13 episodes and an OVA as well.

The anime series has also been made into a live-action which was released in 2018. Tao Tsuchiya and Masaki Suda played the roles of our protagonists Shizuku and Haru respectively. 

It was directed by Sho Tsukikawa and written by Arisa Kanenko. 

Very recently, Sentai has acquired the rights to one of the classic coming of age anime Nana by Ai Yazawa.

About My Little Monster

My Little Monster is a manga by Robico and it was serialized from 2008 to 2013 in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine.

The story portrays Shizuku who is nicknamed “dry ice” due to her emotionless and detached behavior and Haru, her classmate who is frequently absent at school.

Both of the protagonists are severely unsocial beings but they start falling for each other. They learn to care for each other as well as for their family and friends.
