In a world full of cherry blossoms lurks monsters known as Oni. The Power Rangers, I mean Yoroi (oops), fight against these demons to save innocents.
Yet, this anime stands out because of the dark plot that brews beneath its bright image, and the responsibility to discover it rests on the protagonist, Kakeru.
Shikizakura is coming soon to reveal a new fantasy world in all its glory on October 9, 2021. The creators of the series have come up with the perfect plan to promote the anime.
A new teaser has been released, which is narrated by voice actor Jiro Sato.
You might know Sato from his previous role as Kanzo Moagi in the Death Note live-action. Still, you cannot be prepared enough for the hilarity that ensues in this teaser.
Sato launches into a commentary of the scenes as all the serious action moments lose their momentum. The disparity between the teaser and the narration is enough to make you giggle.
The talented actor has also been cast as a middle-aged fan in the anime. He is from the Tokai region, which is also where the anime takes place. In fact, most of the staff members are also from the same region.
Local actor Jiro Sato (from Kasugai City, Aichi Prefecture) @actor_satojiro is a guest voice actor in “Shikizakura”! ️

Anime Expo Lite aired Shikizakura’s first episode in July, and Hulu will be streaming the anime when it debuts in October. While Hulu will stream it the day after its broadcast in Japan, other streaming services will air the episodes four days late.

About Shikizakura
Shikizakura is an original anime by studio Sublimation. It follows high school student Kakeru Miwa, who ends up being an irregular member of a power suit team tasked with battling Oni.
These Oni possess humans and try to sneak into the transient world. Only the power suit, Yoroi, which combines ancient secrets with the latest technology, can protect people from Oni.
Due to this sudden turn of events, Kakeru decides to become a hero who will battle Oni and protect Ouka Myoujin, the shrine maiden fated with saving the world.
