Many manga titles, despite their popularity, do not ever get officially licensed. This happens because of illegal fan translations, through which many otakus access these titles.

Due to the lack of official channels in the process, the popularity is never reflected back to the producers. A very simple solution to this is to go digital, and Kodansha has caught up to it.

The spy thriller manga, Tesla Note, will start serialization on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket App from 4th August 2021, switching from the Weekly Shonen Magazine.
