‘The Apothecary Diaries’ Newest Teaser Announces Cast & October Release
The kidnapping and subsequent sale to the palace completely alters the course of a young girl’s life. Now that she was imprisoned in the palace, she might have spent the rest of her life doing nothing but serving the emperor. But the girl had something no one else did: an extensive understanding of medicine.
In “The Apothecary Diaries,” we follow a farm girl who moves to the big city and finds herself of great use to royalty. She stops being a concubine and starts helping them as a doctor, even rescuing them from plots.
On Saturday, a new image and a teaser video featuring a new voice actor for the anime adaptation of “The Apothecary Diaries” were posted on the official website. Additionally, the article confirmed that the anime’s launch will occur in October. The series will premiere simultaneously in all regions on Crunchyroll.
The preview focuses on Maomao’s dealings with Jinshi, an imperial court eunuch in charge of the harem and internal affairs. Maomao is also depicted sampling dishes to ensure they meet the standards set by Gyokuyou, the imperial consort.
Maomao, the protagonist of “The Apothecary Diaries,” is a young woman who possesses an extensive understanding of medicine. She is abducted and sold to the imperial family as a concubine. She attempts to remain under the radar at first, but Jinshi soon spots her and elevates her to the position of attendant for Gyokuyou, who would be responsible for testing her meals for poison.

The anime gets a lot of positive reviews, which is good news. The novel twist of combining medical practice with detective work is refreshing. The animation and character designs are both top-notch. Light novelist Natsu Hyuga collaborated with manga artist Touko Shino on the project The Apothecary Diaries.
Maomao, the protagonist of this tale, is the daughter of an apothecary and, as such, is well-versed in the use of medicinal plants. After being abducted and sold to the back palace, she must learn to survive in a whole new culture.
In 2023, an anime based on the light novels will premiere.
