The Official Twitter handle for The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 Shared the news regarding the anime getting a new season. Unfortunately, the release date is not yet revealed. The News was revealed immediately after the first Season ended.
The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 was a great success, and we can see why, from excellent narratives to wonderful characters. The Series was much more than a typical Romance and drama anime, and you should check it out if you haven’t yet.
The Apothecary Diaries is a light novel Series also known in Japanese as ‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto.’ The manga is written by Natsu Hyūga and Illustrated by Touko Shino. The Manga Series was first published in 2011 on Shosetsuka and also gained immense popularity back then. After that Sunfunotomo published the series as a novel in 2012 which also followed the light novel Series in 2014.Now, J Club is publishing the novel series digitally for all the fans out there.
Story of ‘The Apothecary Diaries’
‘The Apothecary Diaries’ takes Viewers into the lavish settings of a fictional empire inspired by Ancient China, the story follows the adventures of a genius Apothecary, Maomao who has been kidnapped and sold to the lowest ranks of the Imperial Court. Now merely a maid, Maomao settles into her new everyday life and hides her extensive knowledge of medicine in order to avoid any unwanted attention.
Not long after Maomao’s arrival, the emperor’s infant children peculiarly begin to experience serious sickness – almost as if someone has cast a curse. Maomao Curiosity solves the mystery and to remain unsuspicious she leaves an anonymous tip. Unfortunately, the dashing and perceptive eunuch Jinsii quickly sees through it and catches her.
Maomao gets praised and recognized for her talent in medicine and gets promoted to court lady for the emperor’s favorite concubine, Gyokuyou. As Maomao continues to remedy the numerous illnesses plaguing the imperial court, her pharmaceutical knowledge and expertise quickly prove to be essential for the Imperial court.
