The Comedy Anime ‘Heat The Pig Liver’ Will Debut in 2023.
It’s true that you are what you eat, but Takuma Sakai’s light novel series “Heat the Pig Liver” goes too far with this maxim.
One of the main characters in the novel becomes a pig after eating raw pig liver. Not long later, he is discovered by a young woman named Jess, who, and here’s the twist, can read minds and decides to keep him as a pet.
Jess and Pig become close after the latter rescues her from a foreboding fate, despite the former’s initial desire to devour her.
The bizarre but entertaining story of two mismatched pals, “Heat the Pig Liver,” will be adapted into an anime in 2023, according to the show’s creators. In a fresh promotional image released after the news broke, Jess and Pig play starring roles.
This tale is essentially an isekai, but it’s not the kind we despise with all our being. This story is entertaining, not annoying, and it may cause you to think again about the media you normally like.
Of course, the fact that the protagonists are so adorable makes it easier to sit through an otherwise bizarre plot.
The following actors have been announced as playing roles in future installments of the Jess and Pig franchise:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Pig | Yoshitsugu Matsuoka | Inosuke Hashibira (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) |
Jess | Tomori Kusunoki | Makima (Chainsaw Man) |
Heat the Pig Liver is an odd story at first, but it improves as the pig uses his sense of smell and his intelligence to help Jess.
If you enjoy similar anime with likeable protagonists, you should add this one to your queue.
