Everything he makes up comes up to be true and somehow adds up to the story he makes. It can be seen clearly that he doesn’t live in his lies but loves to create fantasy stories. Clearly, an Overlord fan would find many similarities in its hilarious panels.

The Eminence In Shadow Episode 2 Recap
Cid’s dream has always been to become the eminence in shadow, he doesn’t remember how he got into it but since his past life, he had trained every day to achieve his dream.
Right then, Alpha appeared behind him to notify him that she had gone through the ancient books and texts and had found traces of what they believed to be the Cult of Diablos.
There’s still a lot that Alpha has to learn about them but they seem powerful. With Cid’s motto, they lurk in shadows and hunt from shadows.
Minoru Kageno’s life was cut short due to being hit by a truck and now he opened his eyes again. It didn’t take long for him to realize that he was isekaied into another world and let out a fake cry because his parents were bothered by why their child wasn’t crying.
In this new world, he could sense magic which was a fantasy from his previous life. Now he can claim this power as his own. Cid was born as the son of Baron Kagenou, an aristocrat who lived in the boonies. His family has produced dark knights for generations, fencers who use their magical ability to enhance their combat skills.
In Cid’s generation, everyone has high hopes for the family’s heir which is his sister, Claire Kagenou. He hides in the shadow of his talented sister to become an average and ordinary Dark Knight. But under this exterior, he has perfected his combat skills from his previous life and also knows various magic skills.
Also he has made an ultimate defense weapon, Slime Suit which can take the shape of any weapon and even protect him at the same time. While taking care of bandits, he gained a blob of a living creature. It had started to rot due to magic overload.
Cid thought it would be a good idea to use all his magic skills which was dangerous to use elsewhere. However, one day the magic power was contained and it was an elf that was hidden underneath. He started off his chunnibyou story he rescued her from a curse cast on her and the hero’s descendants.
The elf thought it must be true and made it a goal of gathering other hero’s descendants to confront Diablos. With this, he named the elf Alpha. He had started this performance and now his skills have improved even more.
Cid’s sister is also undoubtedly talented. As she turned 15, it was time for her to attend the Midgar Academy for Dark Knights in the Royal Capital. She was captured by enemies the day before she was going to attend school.
Cid randomly pinpoints a region and the seven shadows find Claire kept captive there. Cid could overpower dangerous criminals without using any magic power. Claire returned home the next day and went to attend the Academy.
As Cid thought about his future, Alpha and others bid him goodbye which leaves him shocked.
The Eminence In Shadow Episode 3 Spoilers
Cid is really getting blown away by his fantasies and thinks everyone is playing out their roles to satisfy him. The people that Alpha collected are really capable at their jobs but again, Cid thinks they are random people whom Alpha collected from the streets.
It may even go in to show how Cid gained his skills. For spoilers, growing up he modified his own body to make it as efficient as possible which is the reason for his dense muscle and bones that hold a high amount of magic power. He constantly developed his sword and magic skills to make himself an all-rounder.
If the end of Eminence In Shadow Episode 2 was shocking, it was actually a temporary goodbye as they all went to expand their organization. One of them opened a company for funding their organization, while the other became an author, and so on.
