Originating in 1999 as a manga, The Prince of Tennis rose to popularity soon and was adapted into an anime in 2001. As the name suggests, it is a sport-themed anime that focuses on Tennis.

The official Twitter account of The New Prince of Tennis announced the upcoming anime, The New Prince of Tennis: Hyoutei vs. Rikkai – Game of Future. The anime will premiere in spring 2021 in two parts.

The visual portrays the ambitious eyes of the leaders of Hyoutei and Rikkai high schools. Keigo Atobe and Yukimura Seiichi look like they are ready for their upcoming match.

Keigo Atobe is being voiced by Junichi Suwabe (Yami Sukihiro in Black Clover).

Suwabe is joyous about the new matches that will be released as an original anime since they are not included in the previous series.

He hopes that the strong points of the members of Hyoutei will be portrayed carefully.

Seiichi Yukimura is being voiced by Sachiko Nagai (Miyako Miyamori from Umi Monogatari).

She is incredibly confident in the power of the Rikkai team and wants the audience to anticipate the results of the match.

The anime is being animated by Studio Kai (7 Seeds 2) and M.S.C (Code: Realize -Guardian of Rebirth).

Rikkai highschool accepts the challenge of an exhibition match with Hyoutei. Atobe, the leader of the Hyoutei team, nominates Rikkai for the match.

Yukimura’s determination burns through to the next generation players from Rikkai as well. Who will win the game?

About The Prince of Tennis

The Prince of Tennis is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Takeshi Konomi.

An anime television series animated by Trans Arts, co-produced by Nihon Ad Systems and directed by Takayuki Hamana, was broadcast on TV Tokyo from October 10, 2001, to March 30, 2005, spanning a total of 178 episodes.

The story centers around Ryoma Echizen, son of the legendary “Samurai Nanjiro,” who retired very early from his professional tennis career despite his undeniable talent.

At age 12, Ryoma begins attending Seishun Academy Middle School in Tokyo, Japan, and joins its boys’ tennis team.

The title of the series comes from Ryoma’s title, “The Prince of Tennis,” after winning four tournaments back in America before the events of the manga.
