Trapped in a Dating Sim Receives a Spin-Off Manga for June
There are tons of isekai with protagonists as mob characters in the world they’re reincarnated in, but Trapped in a Dating Sim is a refreshing break from the usual.
Sure, the plot is the same, but the main character Leon, being a sarcastic genius and knowing all about the game world he’s transported to, is just top-notch.
With all the excitement about its recent anime adaptation, the franchise just decided to drop another major announcement to get the fans even more revved up.
Kadokawa’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine revealed that the Trapped in a Dating Sim novel series is getting a spin-off manga. It will be launched in the magazine’s upcoming issue on June 9.
The upcoming manga series is titled Otome Game Yōchien wa Mob ni Kibishii Yōchien Desu (Otome Game Kindergartens are Tough Kindergartens for Mobs).
As shown, the manga series will feature a cute chibi version of the characters as kindergarteners. The magazine announcement features Leon, Olivia, and Angelica as kids in kindergarten uniforms and Marie in the background with a desolate expression.
I am intrigued about why Marie is not looking like her usual cunning yet cheerful self. Is the kindergarten series going to be a serious one? That seems unlikely because they’re just a bunch of 5-year-olds in this, so how much trouble can they create?

Every fan of the series knows how Leon wants to lead a trouble-free life, but irony hits when fate intervenes and puts him in the limelight. Just sprinkle Leon’s usual satirical personality over the narrative, and we get one of the best isekai comedies ever made.
I can’t wait to read the upcoming spin-off because I know the doses of comedy and cuteness will be infinite.
