Cestvs: The Roman Fighter is about a slave’s struggle to survive. Our protagonist Cestvs tries his hardest to stay alive in the brutal Roman Empire even if it means he has to spill some blood.
Created by Shizuya Wazarai, the Cestvs: The Roman Fighter manga is a grim take on the Roman Civilization, and the horror it brought upon the captured innocents deemed as slaves.
Fuji TV’s decision to turn the manga into an anime led to its Ultra+ animation block taking in the offer.
Now, Cestvs: The Roman Fighter’s official website has released a PV, new visuals and new information about the cast, staff and opening theme song. The anime is set to be released on April 14th in Fuji TV channel.
The PV shows Cestvs, a young slave pushed into the world of fighting to entertain the higher ups in Ancient Rome. He learns the art of boxing and engages in many fights to survive in that cruel world.
We can clearly see the progression of his demeanor from a scared boy to a tough fighter ready to take on another opponent.
The trailer also features a small snippet of the band Dragon Ash’s opening theme song for the anime titled “Endeavor.”
The visual released introduces the additional cast for the upcoming anime.
