When is the Rest of Lucifer Season 5 Coming?
Our favorite devil is back for a fifth season but has left us too soon and screaming for more! Netflix’s fantasy drama Lucifer recently aired season five.
However, this time its 16 episode pack was divided into two parts of 8 episodes each. Wondering when the second part will be airing? Read on to find the answer (it is not very hopeful though).
The supernatural series about the Devil (Tom Ellis) living in Los Angeles and solving crimes alongside LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) returned with the first half of season 5 just in time for fall.
At the end of season 4, Lucifer chose to return to Hell, leaving behind his beloved detective, Chloe, who finally admitted she loves him.
Lucifer season 5, part 1 ended with the introduction of the most important character besides the Devil himself, God (Dennis Haysbert).
But all of the plot threads involving Lucifer’s brother Michael masterminding the former’s end are left hanging and need to be resolved.
With the story only half told, here’s everything we know about Lucifer season 5, part 2.
When is Lucifer S5 Part 2 coming?
There’s no exact release date set for when Lucifer season 5, part 2 will arrive on Netflix.
Production of the final episodes of Lucifer season 5 was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic back in March.
So it’s likely that the second batch of season 5 episodes won’t arrive until 2021 since filming needs to be completed.
Lucifer To Return For Season 6
But the good news is that Lucifer will also return for season 6! Originally, Lucifer season 5 was to be the end of the series but Netflix became interested in a sixth season.
Despite some hurdles in the negotiations, Tom Ellis agreed to sign a new deal in May 2020.
So, with fans assured of one more season to come, it’s merely a matter of playing the waiting game for the latter half of Lucifer season 5.
Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 Cast
There is a good chance Lucifer season 5, part 2 will pick up right where part 1 left off. In which case, the entire cast will be back for the second batch of episodes.
This obviously includes Tom Ellis in his duel role as Lucifer and Michael, Lauren German as Chloe Decker, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez, Leslie-Ann Brandt as Maze, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, and Kevin Alejandro as Dan Espinoza.
Alexander Koch will also return as Ella’s new boyfriend, Pete Daily.
The casting of Dennis Haysbert as God was announced in January 2020; so God is bound to play a huge role in the next batch of episodes.
Inbar Lavi will also return as Eve at some point in Lucifer season 5, part 2.
Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 Story
Lucifer season 5, part 1 ended when God arrived to break up the brawl between Lucifer, Michael, and Amenadiel in the LAPD.
Although God had previously been voiced by Sandman author Neil Gaiman, who co-created the DC Comics/Vertigo Lucifer Morningstar character that the TV series adapted, the Almighty finally appearing in Lucifer is bound to change everything.
In addition, Chloe learned that she was created by God for Lucifer, and she is coping with this as well as the realities of how she can make a relationship with the Devil work.
Meanwhile, Ella has to go through the fact that her new boyfriend Pete is a serial killer.
Plus, Maze is trying to gain a soul while Amenadiel and Linda must figure out what their baby’s mortality ultimately means for his future.
Finally, Michael still has to carry out his master plan to destroy his twin brother, the Devil. So there is a huge amount of story for Lucifer season 5, part 2 to resolve.
