Who’s a Better Fighter for Dr. Stone’s Moon Mission: Tsukasa or Kohaku?
Dr. Stone has been going on at a steady pace while preparing for its most anticipated moon mission arc.
With such complex and unpredictable projects comes the burden of choosing the key players. In this case, it’s about the right choices for the three astronauts.
When the manga first talked about those who’ll be going on the moon, we saw that Tsukasa, Senku, and Ryusui were shown petrified on the moon’s surface.
As Senku explained, the rocket is a one-way ticket to the moon, and the astronauts will have to petrify themselves to survive and wait to be rescued.
While the chapter took these three just as an example, we all knew for sure that they would be the final choices.
But we all were proved wrong in chapter 219 when Tsukasa declared that Kohaku would be the best choice for the warrior in the moon mission.
All of us were taken back because no one ever expected this, and it gave rise to one of Dr. Stone’s most intriguing questions: Who’d be a better fighter for the moon mission between Tsukasa and Kohaku?
Let’s look at some quick facts first.
Kohaku and Tsukasa both have come a long way ever since their first, not-so-friendly encounter. While Tsukasa has always been a great fighter, he still had a hard time beating Kohaku on multiple occasions.
One key factor would be that Kohaku is the most agile character in all of the Science Kingdom. Tsukasa may be strong, but no one can beat Kohaku’s speed.
Coming to a more scientific part, the moon’s atmosphere is way different from Earth’s, and the astronauts will need to adapt quickly before Why-Man attacks them.
Kohaku is the best bet here because she was trained to study the surroundings, make quick decisions, and protect her friends and allies.
The Strongest High School Primate may excel in physical strength and instincts just as sharp as Kohaku’s, but he lacks speed and flexibility. Kohaku can adapt to changes in gravity much quicker than Tsukasa, which is a major advantage.
Then again, we have no idea of Why-Man’s physical strength. The initial chapters show that Tsukasa eventually defeated Kohaku’s speed and technique with his raw strength.
If Why-Man turns out to be physically powerful, then there’s a significantly less chance that Kohaku will be able to hold out for long.
Tsukasa can train to increase his speed and agility, but it will take much more time for Kohaku to build the same strength. And may I remind you that time is something that our heroes don’t have much of.
So, for me, Tsukasa would be a better choice than Kohaku for the moon mission as his strength and experience of going against the unknown will give us a much better chance against Why-Man on the moon.

Let’s not forget about yet another worthy warrior named Hyoga. He possesses the strength that rivals Tsukasa’s, and his speed and flexibility are on par with Kohaku.
He might not be the final choice, but he can still be considered the immediate backup.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on this matter, and in the end, it doesn’t matter what’s canon or non-canon because all that’s important is for the mission to be a success.
