The Armored Titan – Old Look

In the new look of The Armored Titan, we can see that the armor does not cover the full body of Reiner while in the old look we can clearly see that the armor covers every part of Reiner’s body. Why this happened? let’s figure it out.

The main reason behind this was the ‘Intent’. “Why can’t you just let me die in peace” clarifies it all. By intent, we mean that Reiner was depressed and was seen attempting suicide and having suicidal thoughts various times in season 4.

Reiner was seen crying and begging to kill him in the underground room where he met Eren Yeager. After Eren transformed into the Founding Titan, Reiner just wanted to save Falco and not wanted to fight anymore. That’s why we can see that his face was not connected to the titan’s muscles completely when Flaco tries to wake him up.

But at the end of Episode 7, Gabi and Falco tried to wake him up and save them by shouting and eventually their voice reached Reiner and Reiner transforms into the Armored Titan in the same state he was. So that’s the reason behind this new titan form that does not cover Reiner’s full body and face and that’s why this titan form looks so different than the usual one.
