Will Romantic Killer get a season 2? How will the story progress?

Romantic Killer came out far better than we expected from a Netflix anime. The show had us hooked from the start and soon turned into more than just another romcom with a quirky lead and her love interests.

It premiered on Netflix on October 27, 2022, and became an instant hit in the anime community. All 12 episodes are available to stream on the platform now, and I urge you to binge it if you haven’t yet.

Netflix’s Romantic Killer left viewers with only one question in the end: Will there be a season 2?

The answer to that is unknown as the company hasn’t spoken a word about their plans regarding the anime. Meanwhile, the final episode does drop some hints indicating a possible return.

If you ask me, it would be lovely if the anime gets renewed, and I’m sure most fans are with me on this. It’s no wonder that Romantic Killer captured our hearts as it is beyond brilliant with some great animation, story, characters, and more.

We’ll need to analyze the final episode carefully to make speculations and theories about season 2’s possibility.

Episode 12 ended with a cliffhanger when Kate was assigned to Yukana, indicating that she might return to torment Tsukasa and Anzu.

Following this, Riri adds a new rule to the game and declares how Anzu’s love life will progress slowly. This means we’ll either have more than one season renewal or a time skip straight to the end of Anzu’s high school, the game’s deadline.

Moreover, the anime has already adapted all 38 chapters of the manga, which ended back in 2020. The anime had a slightly different ending than the manga: Kate getting assigned to Yukana.

According to this, the story might progress with Yukana becoming a permanent villain in Anzu’s romantic story, but let’s not forget about Riri. As Kate mentioned, Riri started acting on their personal feelings in Anzu’s case, which might mean they liked her too.

That gives rise to another theory of how even Riri might start pursuing Anzu, and the girl might end up with more love interests as the plot continues.

As we all know, Netflix isn’t the one to wait to announce renewals. It’s only been a few days since the anime came out, and the company might renew the season based on the response it gets.

For now, all we can do is wait.

About Romantic Killer
