Will There be a The God of High School Season 2?

The God of High School was one of the most anticipated anime of summer 2020. Being a webtoon adaptation, it already stood out and was not a disappointment in terms of its execution.

The story follows the journey of a 17-year-old who gets recruited to fight in a tournament that would offer anything to the winner along with the title of “God of High School.”

The anime is more like a re-telling of the original webtoon than a proper adaptation and hence received a little backlash from webtoon fans.

However, there is no denying that God of High School is a pretty great anime with amazing animation and soundtrack in itself.

Season 1 of God of High School ended in September 2020 and is yet to receive an official announcement for season 2.

1. Release Date

God of High School season 2 is still waiting for its official renewal. The anime has not been greenlit for season 2 yet, but we can expect to see the story continue in summer 2022.

God of High School is a Crunchyroll original anime and was well-received due to the right marketing strategies and promotions but made a place in the audience’s heart because of its well-choreographed action, quick pacing, and emotionally touching characters.

Season 1 had 13 episodes, and it is highly likely that season 2 would also contain 13 episodes.

2. What to Expect from Season 2

Season 1 adapted 112 chapters of the webtoon in 13 episodes. While it left out many exciting sub-plots, the anime did not have any loopholes. So, we can expect season 2 to cover at least 2 more arcs.

Season 1 covered the Match with Gods entirely and most of the parts of the National Competition arc.

Season 2 will completely adapt the remains of the National Competition Arc and most probably cover the entirety of the Adventure arc. This means chapters 113-175 would be included in season 2.

There is also a mini-arc consisting of Jin Taejin’s back story. But we can consider it to be made into an OVA and not an entire season.
