World Trigger Manga Discontinued For A Month! Author’s Health Concerns Rise Again
With the third season of the anime series currently airing, World Trigger Manga is taking a break yet again. The first season of the anime series went on from 2014 to 2016. And the next season came out this year. While the fans are hooked on the recent releases, a hiatus for the manga comes in not as a shock. The manga ranks as #1 by the Shonen Jump community, and the popularity is reaching heights. Fans are worried if the manga will lose the hype because of the halt. So, what has caused the author to discontinue his manga? When is the next release scheduled? Here are all the details.
Daisuke Ashihara’s World Trigger began serialization in February 2013 and soon received an anime adaption under Toei Animation. The manga sets its background around Mikado City, which one day faces an entrance to a different world. The “gate” brings monsters into the city called the Neighbors. It focuses on Kuga Yuma, who is a humanoid neighbor hiding in Mikado City. The series is highly popular because of its plot and is considered one of the best ongoing manga right now by its fans.
World Trigger Manga Faces A Month Delay While The Author Recovers
The WorTri or World Trigger Manga has been a huge success since its first release. However, it has also gone through several hiatuses during the publications. 2021 faced two breaks in the manga around March and May, respectively. A recent tweet by the official account of Jump Square reveals another delay for the next chapter of the manga.
According to the tweet, the author Daisuke Ashihara is going through severe health issues which are preventing him from continuing his work. He is suffering from chronic neck pain, quite common among manga writers. The illness is affecting his ability to write and draw. Hence discontinuation of the manga has been finalized. The author will focus on his health problems and try to recover before returning with newer chapters.
How Long Will The Hiatus Last?
The official tweet revealed that the hiatus is expected to last for about a month. On top of this, the break might extend further as time passes. So, the overall story of World Trigger revolves around Mikado City, which one day suffers an invasion from monsters called ‘Neighbors’ of a different world. The series has Kuga Yuma as the main lead who joins the local school in the city. He meets Osamu Mikumo, a C-class Border trainee in his new school.
Kuga being a humanoid Neighbor, is hiding his real self from the National Defense Agency, Border. And in his secret mission, Osamu continues to help. The series shows more team tactics rather than focusing on individual powers.
