World Trigger season three episode two puts a huge question mark on Chika’s capabilities.

So far, Chika’s inability to shoot others had gone unaddressed, but not anymore. With the rank battles starting, every weakness in a team will be highlighted as a gaping hole, and it’s the perfect opportunity to boost Tamakoma-2’s sniper.

Chika uses lead bullets and tries her hardest not to destroy the whole trion body of her opponent. This decision of hers has cost Tamakoma Second valuable points in past matches.

Toma-san, on the other hand, is not convinced by her actions. According to him, Chika can shoot trion bodies but doesn’t want to. She takes extra measures to make sure she doesn’t entirely destroy people.

She has no qualms with Yuma or Kuga taking care of the rest after she snipes, so she isn’t averse to defeating people.

‘Not being able to’ and ‘not wanting to’ are vastly different things. Someone who can’t shoot will never be able to shoot, but someone like Chika will give her best when cornered.

The only concern yet at hand is that Chika has not overcome her fear yet. Will she be able to shoot properly before any major damage occurs?

If Chika can’t make up her mind, Hyuse, Yuma, and Osamu will have to take the fall. A shooter who doesn’t want to shoot at others is a fatal flaw, and the Mikumo squad can’t afford to have it.

About World Trigger

World Trigger, also known in short form as WorTri, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Daisuke Ashihara. It was initially serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2013 to November 2018 and later transferred to Jump Square in December 2018.

A mysterious white-haired kid named Yūma Kuga gets transferred to the local school. Turns out, Kuga is actually a humanoid or ‘neighbor.’ In school, he becomes friends with another student, Osamu Mikumo, who is, in fact, an undercover C-class Border trainee. Mikumo becomes the perfect guide for Kuga to save him from being discovered by Border.
