Horimiya is a heartwarming rom-com anime that came out in January 2021. The show contains hidden messages about peer pressure and the importance of real friends. These are giant mechas that are capable of dealing damage to the monsters. Children of the plantations are trained to pilot these mecha machines from a young age. The show follows the story of one such pilot, Hiro, who drops out of the academy.

After Koito jumps off the roof and kills herself, a traumatized Ai stops coming to school. After encountering the mysterious wonder eggs, Ai is told that she can still save Koito. To save her friend, she must save the girls that emerge from the wonder eggs in her dreams. Clinging to this hope, she sets out to save these girls and have a chance of bringing her dead friend back.
