Star and Stripe lost her life in the battle against Shigaraki/AFO, but her last words reminded me of Deku’s previous vow of saving Shigaraki.

In chapter 295, Deku mentioned that when Shigaraki was being swallowed by All for One, it looked like he was asking for help. So, of course, our soft-hearted hero couldn’t just leave the suffering villain in distress alone.

In the current chapter, Star and Stripe said, “As long as people stand up to save each other, someone will inherit that will of heroism….”. After that, Shigaraki kept repeating the words “someone…some hero.”

Soon we get to see a young Tenko Shimura who suddenly remembered Deku. Does this mean that he realizes that Deku is the only one who can save him?

If he were to go to any other hero for help, they wouldn’t even pause to think before attacking him. It is only Deku who has seen his suffering and wants to rid Shigaraki of it.

In that panel, Shigaraki is also shown as a younger version of himself. It looks like he suddenly remembered his own self and wants a way out of whatever is happening.

If you ask me, Shigaraki has committed his fair share of crimes. So, I’m not sure that Deku can save him, but his vow still remains intact.

Now that Shigaraki’s consciousness has started separating from All for One’s, is it possible he will revolt later on? There might be a tug of war inside the body at a crucial point in the battle.

Is it possible for Shimura to separate himself again? Even if he can, is his soul still redeemable?
