Black Clover’s Chapter 300, “Beyond Tenacity,” Hypes up Asta vs Megicula

In Chapter 300, both Noelle’s Saint Valkyrie Stage and Gaja’s sacrifice were proven to be mere toys in front of Megicula’s Decaying World.

Black Clover chapter 300’s only positive side was Asta, who has finally decided that it’s time to show up with a goofy grin on his face as if his friend was not staring at death all this time! 

Though I had been hopeful that Noelle’s gang might be able to kill Megicula, however, I wasn’t expecting how big of a reverse UNO the devil was going to pull. This chapter is as low as it gets, with two captains lying unconscious and a defeated spirit.

After Megicula reveals her plans to manifest her entire form by killing Lolopechka and everyone in the castle, Asta swoops in and negates the devil’s curse on Lolopechka with his Demon-Destroyer sword.

In the latest chapter, “Beyond Tenacity,” Megicula revealed that she was unscathed even after facing Gaja’s Ultimate magic because of her ultra-high-speed recovery curse. 

However, in my opinion, this healing curse is too OP, as I was left wondering how can curses heal!?

After which, she mocks Noelle for her tenacity to save Lolopechka, even after knowing that she has no chance of winning against the devil.

Megiculla explains that devils never disobey those who are more powerful than them; she mocks human determination as nonsensical ideas and meaningless. However, Noelle hits back that human strength lies in not giving up.

And this is when Asta arrives and breaks the curse! This chapter truly builds on Megicula as it gives her personality and a motive while explaining her behavior. However, now faced against Asta’s anti-magic and Liebe, Magicula will face a truly terrifying opponent.

Due to his training with Nacht Faust, Asta’s power-up has genuinely turned into a devil killing machine, just as we saw in his previous fight with Lilith and Nahamah.

The fate of Gaja is still uncertain, but we are sure that Lolopechka is finally safe from Megiculla’s control. Therefore, we can assume that Lolopechka and Undine will be able to save Gaja; however, at this moment, he truly is at heaven’s door.

Though the chapter lacked the heavy action we saw in the last couple of chapters, I was delighted to see Asta return to Noelle’s aid. The coming chapters will be pretty good as Asta and Liebe fight Megicula. 

But can Asta beat the devil? Or will Megicula yet again pull a reverse UNO? I hope that Noelle and Undine will be back in action, and we might see a new spell unleashed!
