My Next Life as a Villainess: Who falls in love with Katarina?
Katarina’s life takes a bizarre turn when she recalls her previous existence and learns that she is the primary antagonist of an Otome game. Whether she is expelled or dies of exposure, she will always meet a violent end.
She knows the rules and is prepared to do whatever it takes to alter her fate. And she is not lacking for romantic options. I can’t wait to find out who Katarina chooses to spend the rest of her life with.
Katarina learns the truth about Prince Geordo and Keith’s emotions for her in My Next Life as a Villainess. So far, she hasn’t made any selections, and the leading candidates in the light book are Geordo, Keith, and Maria.
But it’s too soon to write off the other players. It’s possible that they, too, will act. Perhaps the other two boys, like Keith and Geordo, will swoop in with their shots at Katarina. Who can say? The plot still has a ways to go.
Katarina’s true passion in life, by the way, is desserts. That girl has a serious sweet tooth and is happily married to candy.
Spoilers ahead for the manga adaptation of “My Next Life as a Villainess”.
Who is Katarina interested in?
Katarina has garnered a great deal of interest in herself. There will be several suitors, both male and female.
I. Geordo Stuart
We have a royal at our disposal, and he comes with an interesting history. So, here’s the deal: Katarina is harmed when he trips her up. Katarina uses the opportunity to have all of the attention of the prince for herself.
Fortune Lover’s happy ending has him breaking up with Katarina, sending her into exile, and tying the knot with the main character. He murders Katarina and leaves the hero and heroine for dead in the tragic conclusion. Yikes!
Geordo’s love for Katarina are reciprocated when she works to alter his fate. Here, the prince wears his emotions on his sleeve, but Bakarina is as oblivious to romance as a rock wall.
The poor guy is left feeling let down and discouraged, but Katarina’s ignorance is rather funny.
II. Maria Campbell
In Fortune Lover, Maria is a girl who suffers at the hands of Katarina’s harassment. Maria is completely smitten by Katarina once she changes her ways and becomes kind and charming.
Maria’s feelings for Katarina lead to a new path and a unique plot. For a commoner, the rare light magic she wields is extraordinary. However, being different had a negative impact on her social life as a kid.
How likely is it that Maria’s affections will be returned? Nothing but time shall tell. Katarina, on the other hand, can always be counted on to keep us wondering with her naiveté.
III. Keith Claes
Adopted by Katarina, Keith is a prodigy in the field of earth magic and is like a brother to her. Keith and Katarina had a tense encounter in the game. She treated him poorly since she assumed he was their father’s secret child.
In the happy ending, Keith abandons Katarina and his philandering habits in favor of the game’s main character. The tragic conclusion is a nightmare. In a rage, Keith murders his sister and then vanishes.
Katarina will not allow that to take place. To prevent those tragic conclusions, she tries extra hard to be a supportive sibling to Keith.
Keith begins to feel something for Katarina, despite the fact that he is her brother. Love gets a little tricky, and he even comes clean to her about it. Since I find incest repulsive, I really hope this doesn’t go any farther than a dramatic situation.
IV. Alan Stuart
Mary is engaged to Alan, brother of Geordo. This guy’s jealousy of his more outgoing twin brother has driven him to retreat inside himself.
Alan has a secret infatuation on Katarina, but he has no idea why. Mary’s interfering has led to this success. That young lady just can’t stay out of Alan’s personal life.
Katarina is never an obstacle for Alan to overcome in the game. Instead of playing the antagonist, Mary plays the antagonist. But Alan really does get irritated when Katarina starts hanging around with Mary all the time. When he is ignored, competition rises in his mind.
Things evolve with time. Alan and Katarina develop a friendship, and things between him and his brother begin to improve as well.
V. Mary Hunt
After Alan complimented Mary on her garden during the game, Mary was completely smitten with him. Katarina may have won her over with her flattery before he ever had a chance.
Mary is more likely to succeed than Katarina is. In the worst-case scenario, she stays with Alan, while in the best-case scenario, she calmly breaks off her engagement to him.
Katarina has a knack for spinning conventional wisdom on its head. A modest compliment in the garden unexpectedly sparks romantic interest.
VI. Nicol Ascart
Geordo and Alan had known Nicol since they were young. His grin is so endearing that it attracts the attention of both sexes.
Nicol’s little sister, Sophia Ascart, is his biggest competition in the game. In his plans, Katarina is sidelined while he and his partner take center stage.
Despite all the brotherly guarding, Nicol appears to have feelings for Katarina. She created a favorable impact since she encouraged him to talk about his emotions.
Katarina never went down Nicol’s route, therefore she can’t tell you anything about what happens to him in the game.
VII. Sophia Ascart
Sophia’s silver hair and fiery eyes earned her the reputation of a cursed beauty. Before meeting Katarina, the poor girl had to endure a life of loneliness.
Katarina’s sincere remarks and willingness to be a friend to Sophia were quite effective. It was revealed that Sophia was actually Katarina’s best friend Atsuko Sasaki in a former life.
The transition from friends to lovers is a common plot device, but I’d rather they just be pals.
