Like Zoro, Luffy is defined by his loyalty to the Straw Hat crew. Many times he has put himself in danger for them, risking his health and possibly his chance at becoming Pirate King. Both protagonists realize the futility of pursuing their goals alone.

Through the events of the Wano arc, we learn that Luffy’s Gum-Gum Fruit is truly one of a kind and integral to the very fabric of our universe. The Global Government even changed its name to reflect its significance. They wished that people would forget how powerful the Mythical Zoan Fruit might be.
The fact that Luffy knew Nika made the Im very nervous, therefore their capture of him became a personal mission. Luffy has joined Vivi as one of the World Government’s top priorities. Since they are aware of the threat he represents to their established system and the symbolic weight he carries.
Big Mom’s And Luffy’s Appetites
Both Big Mom and Luffy let their hunger dictate how they battle one another. If she stops eating, her massive frame will inevitably shrink. Luffy needs a big meal to recover from his frequent, sometimes fatal injuries.
Both Big Mom and Luffy have voracious appetites, but that’s not all they have in common. Both want to be crowned pirate king and treat their troops like family in the process.
Kaido And Luffy Are True Leaders
Both Kaido and Luffy stand out as exceptional leaders. Kaido, captain of the Beast Pirates, enlisted the help of Caesar Clown’s laboratories and Doflamingo as broker to assemble an army of Devil Fruit troops. With the help of Big Mom and her offspring and Wano’s backing from the time of Shogun Orochi, Onigashima was essentially unconquerable.
Luffy may not be a tactical genius, but his bravery and personality make him an idol to warriors of all backgrounds. He makes up for his lack of tactical prowess by bringing together people of different backgrounds and traditions. Despite their differences, they both show the strength of unity among followers.
Blackbeard & Luffy Freed Impel Down
The prisoners at Impel Down were freed in large part due to the efforts of Blackbeard and Luffy. The convicts Luffy rescued quickly became the catalyst for a big jail break. Although he arrived late, Blackbeard played a key part in defeating Magellan, increasing the price tag for the World Government’s escape.
Interestingly, both would-be Pirate Kings benefited from the break out. Blackbeard was able to double the size of his crew and gain the allegiance of Jimbei as a result.
