Watch One Piece Live-Action Dub in Japanese with Netflix’s Easy Guide
Netflix is busy celebrating the astonishing success of its live-action manga adaptation of One Piece, which has been flying high since its release. Since day one, its faithful rendition of the epic adventure has won over fans and critics, who weren’t expecting such an excellent job from Netflix!
The show stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate who dreams of becoming the King of the Pirates. The show’s opening weekend viewing numbers have beaten those of blockbusters like Stranger Things and Wednesday, totaling an astounding 18.5 million!
Now, Netflix has released a handy guide to help fans enjoy the show’s Japanese dub, which is available on the streamer.
Just over a week after the show’s airing, Netflix’s One Piece official Twitter account has shared insight for the newcomers on how to watch it.
The post gives a step-by-step guide on how to watch the live-action manga adaptation with its Japanese-language dub. The tweet has received many comments from fans expressing their desire to rewatch the show using this method.
One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has been very heavily involved in the production of One Piece and has had the final say on any changes to his original manga. This has been one of the primary reasons for the show’s unwavering success from the first day itself and has influenced many cynical fans to try it.
Moreover, most of the anime’s cast members have also voiced their respective characters in their live-action show, except for Arlong actor Jūrōta Kosugi.
The show has largely rectified the errors of Netflix’s previous ventures into the genre. However, they have gone with the trend established by their Cowboy Bebop show in bringing back the voices of the original characters.
The live-action adaptation of One Piece is a significant gesture of appreciation for the loyal manga fans and lives up to the expectations (which were drastically decreased after Netflix’s past ventures in this direction). The live-action actors, such as Emily Rudd (Nami), have also been commended for their accurate rendition of the characters.
Moreover, with Tomorrow Studios CEO Marty Adelstein revealing that One Piece season 2’s scripts have already been penned, the anime cast may have to juggle both roles as Oda’s original One Piece anime continues flying high even after 1000+ episodes!
