A-1 Pictures Unveils Decorated Staff List for 2023 Anime ‘Mashle’
If you reverse Harry Potter and mold it in anime style, you will be left with ‘Mashle.’
It is set in a world where everyone has magical powers except the protagonist. You might even call it Harry Potter and Black Clover’s illegal child.
Mashle is raised away from the city in a forest where he enhances his physical prowess. One day when reality comes crashing down on him, he will have no choice but to go out in the city of magic folks.
The anime adaptation of Hajime Koumoto’s Mashle: Magic and Muscles manga will be released in 2023. It is termed as a “complete” adaptation which indicates that all of the chapters of the manga will be adapted in a single season. Its cour and episode numbers are still unclear.
Check out this small promotional video which introduces Mashle, the protagonist along with his crazy life:
Like I said, Mashle lives away from civilization with his master who tries to hid him from the rest of the world. Being brought up all alone, he never learnt about how cruel people can be and grew up to be a strong but dumb teen.
He will realize that not everyone is as kind-hearted as his master and his absence of magical powers makes him a walking target.
Chiaki Kobayashi, the voice actor of Moriarty from Moriarty the Patriot, has been cast as Mashle and some of his character designs have also been revealed.
Studio A-1 Pictures is in charge of animation production and the staff members are as follows:
Position | Staff | Other Works |
Director | Tomoya Tanaka | Visual Prison |
Series Script | Yousuke Kuroda | My Hero Academia |
Character Designer | Hisashi Tojima | — |
Music Composer | Masaru Yokoyama | Fruits Basket (2019) |
With its innocent hero and topsy turvy magic world, Mashle is sure to hit a chord in all wizardry fans.
