That’s not all! Akane Shimizu plans to base the last chapter of the manga on the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Kodansha, in-charge of “Cells at Work!” English publishing, has shipped the 5th volume in 2017 and the new 6th volume comes out on 9th February 2021.
The story of the manga depicts a hilariously accurate take on the workings of our own body and how blood flows.
It mainly focuses on the protagonists Red Blood Cell AE3803 and White Blood Cell U-1146 and showcases their daily life and how they work to protect the human body from harm.
Cells at Work!’s weird but informative storyline became a huge hit upon its publishing and paved the way for spin-offs like Cells at Work!: Bacteria!, Cells at Work! Code Black and the new Cells at Work!: Lady!.
But, its popularity does not stop there. After the success of the manga as well as the spin-offs, an anime adaptation was made in 2018 with all 13 episodes based on the Cells at Work! Storyline.
Cells At Work 2nd Season And Code Black Premieres In January 2021
Even the spin-off Cells at Work! Code Black is getting its own anime adaptation in 2021.
