American-Japanese Actor, Jun Soejima, Cast as Yasuke, Japan’s First Black Samurai!
When we think of samurai, we generally think of a Japanese person holding a sword. However, Yasuke challenges the notion to reveal that any person who is brave at heart can be a samurai.
Japan’s first black samurai will narrate his tale through the anime that is filled with magic users. Yasuke’s sword has many things to protect, but first, he will have to stop running from his past.
Yasuke, the original anime, will premiere on 29th April worldwide on Netflix. It has posted a brand new trailer that revealed the Japanese cast members of the anime.
The trailer first shows Yasuke as a nobody who is trying to escape his dark and bloody past. However, he is soon sought out and appointed by Oda Nobunaga.
When evil forces are stirring, he has to take up the responsibility of protecting a mysterious child. Why is this child sought after by the villains?

Some new visuals from the anime have also been revealed. The visuals show Yasuke’s fighting stance and him bowing to the mysterious child. Oda Nobunaga is also depicted in the last visual.
With its release date drawing near, excitement for the anime is also on the rise. LeSean Thomas and MAPPA’S collaboration project is definitely an anime worth looking forward to!
About Yasuke
Set during a war-torn feudal Japan with mechs and magic, Yasuke is charged with the task of protecting a mysterious child who’s threatened by dark forces.
He struggles to take care of a peaceful existence after a past life of violence.
But when an area village becomes the centre of social upheaval between warring daimyo, Yasuke must take up his sword and transport a mysterious child who is the target of dark forces and bloodthirsty warlords.
