‘Aoashi’ Teases April Release Date with an Esperion FC Team Visual
Aoashi, the beloved soccer manga, is prepped up for its anime debut, and its release date is nearer than you realize.
The series promises a fresh plot with a crazy-talented protagonist. Ashito might be a feisty, short-tempered high schooler, but nothing beats his love for soccer.
His ‘I-can-do-everything-myself’ attitude often lands him in trouble, but it’s his talent that makes him stand out from the rest.
The Aoashi anime will be released on April 9, 2022. Although no international streaming website has picked it up yet, I’m sure it will announce the good news soon.
While you wait for the premiere, check out this new visual that has just been revealed for the upcoming series:
The visual introduces all the Esperion Youth FC members. Ashito is at the very front, and director Tatsuya Fukuya is standing in the middle.
Tatsuya has handpicked every member of the youth club in the hopes of conquering the world with it.
As Ashito meets the other members, he will soon realize that he isn’t the only talented person. Yet, the most challenging part will be to change his hyper-independent attitude. Before becoming a professional player, he needs to understand how to depend on his teammates.
Two more cast members have been revealed for Aoashi:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Nagisa Akutsu | Shunsuke Takeuchi | The [email protected] Cinderella Girls (Producer) |
Haruhisa Kuribayashi | Yuichiro Umehara | Goblin Slayer (Goblin Slayer) |
Nagisa is a stoic and temperamental defender who often clashes with Ashito. Kuribayashi is a genius midfielder whose exceptional sense in soccer awes everybody. Both of them are irreplaceable players selected by Fukuya.

Aoashi has the potential to become one of the greatest comedy sports anime. The unexpected tactics of Ashito make up for a good laugh, and as a comedy fan, I look forward to seeing how the anime wins over otakus.
About Aoashi
Aoashi is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūgo Kobayashi. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Big Comic Spirits since January 2015.
The story follows Ashito Aoi, a third year middle school student from Ehime, who meets Fukuda Tatsuya, a “J Youth League” coach.
Even though he’s still rough around the edges, Ashito has such amazing potential that he gets invited to participate in his team’s try-outs in Tokyo.
