Berserk manga has been dropping one good chapter after another, but the one thing fans are eagerly wanting to know is if there are any chances of a Berserk Season 3 anime getting released or not,
Berserk is a common title in the top 10 manga series of nearly all Otaku – it also ranks on Myanimelist as the highest-rated manga and the third most popular manga of all time.
With a runtime of more than 30 years and now, it has a gigantic fanbase dedicated to worshipping its every move. The manga has regressed to releasing just 2 to 4 chapters a year, but even then, people make a great deal about it.
Berserk has 3 main adaptions – the 1990s anime, the Golden Dawn movie trilogy, and the 2016 anime. People are well aware that the manga is easily the best and these anime couldn’t live up to the mark, owing to heavy censorship and chipping away the storyline.
Berserk 2016 is the reboot sequel of the film trilogy and uses CGI animation. Today, we are going to discuss the possibility of Berserk Anime Season 3. Given the popularity and prior success, one would think that Season 3 will definitely come, but there is more to that.

Is Berserk Season 3 Anime getting Announced?
Without any further ado, let us get to the main matter – is it possible to have Berserk Anime Season 3? The answer is very uncertain, leaning more to the ‘NO’ side instead of the ‘YES’. That is because popularity is not everything; quality matters and the Studios must strive to attain higher marks.
First, the quality. Berserk 2016 is not a good anime and far worse than the 1990s anime. Youtuber Super Eyepatch Wolf released videos explaining its flaws:

Next, the popularity. All the popularity chants we did earlier in the article were about the manga. The previous anime adaptations, even though they’re decent, they’re still far from perfection.
The 1990s anime is somewhat well received, ranking in the top 300 of Myanimelist. The movie trio is further down the line. As for the 2016 anime, it couldn’t come into the top 500 popular anime and has a score of a measly 6.4 out of 10.
Lastly, funding. To be honest, people are hungry for a good Berserk adaptation, so Producers won’t shy away from the idea. If a Berserk anime comes again, it will be watched for sure. But those are reboots. Berserk Season 3 is another topic.
From the looks of it, the anime was supposed to get 2 seasons despite the performance of Season 1. The Producers, Licensors, Studios, Director, Cast – everything was the same. The second season was announced immediately after Season 1.
So what can be concluded from the above segment? The anime is moderately popular and most people had a low opinion of it. It had ridiculously low sales – Oricon reported a meager 803 sales of Season 1 BD Box. The funding was meant for 2 seasons and now all of those investors have to agree to make Berserk Anime Season 3.
Thus, it is extremely unlikely that Berserk Anime Season 3 is coming. Not impossible, but the smart money wouldn’t go that way. A reboot is far more likely to happen, maybe Netflix will pick it up just like Baki Season 4 and produce it?
No one can say.
Berserk Anime Season 3 Release Date And Additional Details:
We are writing this section with the assumption that Berserk Season 3 will be announced. A sequel means that the original creators will probably come back.
If Season 3 does return, the release date will probably be late 2021 or early 2022.
The Producers will be some or all of these – WOWOW, Hakusensha, Mainichi Broadcasting System, USP, Lidenfilms, NBC Japan, Docomo Anime Store, Koei Tecmo Games. Crunchyroll will probably return to License the English Sub released and Funimation to license the English Dub release.
However, given the bad work, Studios Millepensee and GEMBA will probably not return. Same goes for Director Itagaki Shin. A new Studio with new creators will ensure a new style and approach – that may or may not fix the prior issues of the anime.
The Storyline will probably be a continuation of the earlier Seasons. Season 1 adapted the Conviction Arc and Season 2 went into the Millennium Empire Falcon Arc. Berserk Season 3 anime will probably complete the remaining parts of the Falcon arc and move on to the start of the Fantasia Arc. As usual, the 12 episode stretch should cover it nicely.
Cast will probably be the same to maintain consistency. Actors Hiroaki Iwanaga, Sakurai Takahiro, and Yukinari Toa will be returning to their roles of Guts, Griffith, and Casca. Additionally, music composers will be hired – may be new, maybe old.
