Black Clover 307 Hints at Zenon Not Being A Devil Host But A Devil Himself

Thus far, we only knew about devils and devil hosts. In chapter 307 of the Black Clover manga, Tabata-sensei introduced a curveball where he reveals that people can even possess the heart of a devil.

Of course, who else could possess the heart of a devil other than our very own twisted antagonist, Zenon? Well, this is definitely a step above Vanica and Dante.

I was wondering how Zenon could be more powerful than his companions since this battle needed higher stakes than the previous ones, and voila, the answer is a devil’s heart.

I am not sure if Zenon is even a human anymore. Zenon was ready to give away his soul in the contract that he made with Beelzebub, and Langris even wonders, “Isn’t he already a devil?”

To be honest, giving away one’s soul and accepting a devil’s heart does seem like a permanent road to devil-hood to me.

Yes, I know he asks for these powers in exchange for the Spade kingdom’s continued existence. Yet, how will the empire continue to exist if it is overrun by the devils?

In fact, his twisted heart is revealed when he advises Yuno that he could’ve killed Zenon if his attack had pierced through Langris. Way to ruin the cute moments of the previous chapter’s flashback.

The only thing that is working for Zenon at this point is his awesome new design, kudos to Tabata-sensei.

Well, at least the space-brothers duo have been reunited again, and with Finral’s help, Langris is bound to whip out some incredible new powers.

The upcoming chapter will be focusing on another fierce battle between Zenon and the brothers while Yuno contemplates his next move.

Asta’s involvement might not be necessary for this fight either, and I hope Yuno flashes his Saint Stage mode soon.

About Black Clover

Black Clover is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since February 16, 2015.

The story centers around Asta, a young boy seemingly born without any magic power, something that is unknown in the world he lives in; and his foster brother Yuno who received the rare four-leaf grimoire and has more magic power than most people! With his fellow mages from the Black Bulls, Asta plans to become the next Wizard King.
