Blue Period Anime Gets Delayed by Another Week Outside Japan

Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. This saying was proved right when Blue Period’s analytical protagonist, Yatora Yaguchi, was baffled at the kind of emotions art can make you feel.

This coming-of-age story speaks to everyone who consistently fell short of words while putting their thoughts out in the open, but found comfort and chaos in art.

As we all know, international weebs always get anime episodes a few weeks after they’re released in Japan.

Similarly, Blue Period episodes were also delivered two weeks after their Japanese release, and now they’re going to be delayed even more.

DMM Pictures have revealed that the Blue Period anime will be delayed for one more week after episode 7 due to some production issues. This delay is only for viewers outside Japan.

The company expressed their deepest apologies and explained that they want to serve us quality content and nothing below expectations. DMM will try its best to deliver the episodes as soon as it can.

Netflix has been trying to keep the international audience updated on the anime as soon as possible, but they can only do much. I know it’s frustrating to receive the episodes much later and live in constant anxiety of getting spoilers.

As if manga fans weren’t annoying already, anime-only watchers now have to deal with episode delays and the fear of spoilers at any moment.

The upcoming episode 7 will show the first examination that Yatora will be facing. Till now, all he’s done is make art that felt right to him or ones that inspired him, but now he’ll have to follow specific rules and deliver a piece that pleases others and not just him.

I am genuinely curious about what our protagonist will come up with this time. Will he finally break out of his shell? Or will he fail this examination for character development? Only one way to find out.

About Blue Period

The Blue Period manga is created by Tsubasa Yamaguchi and published by Kodansha.  It was first serialized in Afternoon magazine in June 2017.

The Blue Period revolves around the life of Yataro Yaguchi, a highschool student. Yataro looks like a model student on the outside but fights with hollowness on the inside.

He is fascinated by a painting of the Art club and decides to take up art as a profession. His path is filled with obstacles, but he still expresses himself proudly with colors instead of words.
