Kuma did everything he could for Bonney’s sake and thanks to all those efforts in One Piece Chapter 1101 Bonney was able to make an escape from World Government’s agents who were impersonating as a medical team.
In the previous chapter, we saw that Kizaru visited Vegapunk with some of the Marines. Vegapunk just moved to this new lab after the accident in Punk Hazard. Den Den Mushi was plotted all over the lab. Kizaru came to the lab as Saint Saturn wanted to talk to Vegapunk and he told him that he knew about his illegal deal with Kuma.
He further said that he would allow that deal because Kuma would make an excellent host for the clones but he had some conditions. One of the conditions was Kuma must become a Shichibukai. Vegapunk was against it but Saturn said he could not argue with him. Vegapunk explained all things to Kuma about Bonney’s surgery and he agreed as he was very happy to find the cure for Bonney.
We then see the time Kuma and Bonney spent on Egghead Island and formed a bond with Kizaru in that period. After their surgeries, Kuma said goodbye to Bonney and she just smiled. Kuma took his duty as a new Shichibukai. Luffy was seen running from a tiger and then Kuma’s ship arrived at Foosha Village. Kuma then received a call and the agent said that they had an order for him.

- In a flashback, Kuma remembered one of his trips with the Revolutionary Army in the Goa Kingdom.
- Kuma says that Dragon is also familiar with this place and visited to see a certain boy.
- Dragon says to Kuma if he wants to die keep talking. Kuma asks why.
- Dragon says that a kid is a parent’s weakness.
- Kuma says he understands and won’t look into it anymore.
- Back to Kuma’s story, Kuma enters Mount Colubo and sees Luffy practicing.
- Suddenly, Kuma got a call from the World Government.
- Luffy heard the sound and sensed a chilling presence nearby but when he looked Kuma was already gone.

- He sent several letters to Bonney about how he loved Bonney and talked about the different islands he visited.
