Cells At Work! Baby Manga Resumes this September After Three Month Hiatus

Truthfully, even after studying biology for years, it’s hard to comprehend the numerous processes that happen inside our bodies all the time.

One such beautiful yet perplexing process is child development. Luckily, Cells at Work: Baby is back again to give us a “kawaii” look at our favorite cell. Though not everything is going well, as the baby develops mysterious rashes and antibodies start to disappear.

Mr. Fukuda announced the hiatus back in June through the 28th issue of Morning magazine.

The upcoming chapters will follow the cells as they deal with the menace caused by urination and diaper rash. Though for our brave cells, that’s not all; as the baby grows, the antibodies left by the mother start to vanish one by one as well.

The manga is a spinoff of the popular series Cells at Work by mangaka Akane Shimizu. It features anthropomorphized human body cells as they try their best to keep the human body healthy.

This spinoff series is quite a tribute to all the parents who had to look after these little gremlins and everyone who was once a baby.

With its family-friendly focus, the spinoff lacks some dark motifs that we saw in the original and Code Blackseries. But don’t be fooled; Cells at Work: Baby has all the charm, humor, and art that made the original such a hit with everyone.

Now that it is about to resume again don’t miss out on this gem of a series.

About Cells at Work!

The Cells at Work! manga by Akane Shimizu was published in the Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine from January 2015 to January 2021. It has also received two anime seasons and several spinoffs.

It shows the processes inside the human body from the perspective of cells. The main protagonists are a red blood and a white blood cell as they work every day to keep the body in working condition.

Many other cells and their daily jobs are also introduced and the threats to the body like viruses are portrayed as villains.
