The name of the manga itself might need a spoiler alert, but I am looking forward to Yasu’s gorgeous illustrations once again.

The title of Yasu’s new manga is “I am “Destined” to Be With the Cold-Blooded Dragon Emperor, but I Think I’d Like to Withdraw to the Inner Palace ~I am Busy Cherishing the Young Dragon, so Please Go Ahead and Fight to Be Empress~.”

Yes, you can let go of the breath you were holding in. The series will be serialized in the Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine starting November 26, 2021.

A light novel by Yuzu Lemon inspired the manga adaptation by Yasu. The light novel has the same title as that of the manga. (I am not going to repeat the name.) Shosetsuka ni Naro, the light novel website, has been publishing the quirky novel since July this year.

Its plot involves fairy tale kings and princesses but with an unexpected twist. The princess never falls in love with the haughty king who she is fated to be with.

Instead, she is more than happy to bid him goodbye and live her own life. Encountering a dragon is the extra surprise in her life. (Think Brave meets How to Train Your Dragon)

Yasu’s previous works include the original character designs for Toradora!, Mangirl! and other such anime and manga. He is also the original artist for Joshiraku and Cells at Work: Platelets!

I think Yuzu Lemon’s plot and Yasu’s artwork will make a killer combo, and I hope that it receives an anime adaptation soon.

About Cells at Work!

The Cells at Work! manga by Akane Shimizu was published in the Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine from January 2015 to January 2021. It has also received two anime seasons and several spinoffs.

It shows the processes inside the human body from the perspective of cells. The main protagonists are a red blood and a white blood cell as they work every day to keep the body in working condition.

Many other cells and their daily jobs are also introduced and the threats to the body like viruses are portrayed as villains.
