Chainsaw Man’s Production is Supervised by Creator Fujimoto
Have you wondered why the Chainsaw Man anime turned out so fine and as accurate as the manga? That’s because the creator himself overlooks every detail of the production.
The anime has been doing nothing but justice to the manga by portraying the exact scenes with the same essence. While many thought that was because MAPPA is excellent at producing anime, the reason came out to be completely different.
Chainsaw Man manga’s editor, Shinhei Lin, has tweeted that the creator Tatsuki Fujimoto has been heavily involved in the production.
The animation “#Chainsaw Man” was all planned, composed, scripted, and storyboarded by Mr. Fujimoto, and we kept in close contact with MAPPA’s animation team and had meetings.
I am always grateful for the wonderful enthusiasm of the animation staff throughout the entire process!! ️
So, I would appreciate it if you could watch episode 2 in real time~

Lin says how Fujimoto has been impacting and influencing the anime’s making in every way he could. The anime’s planning, composition, scripts, and storyboard were carefully reviewed by Fujimoto, resulting in the plot’s accuracy to the manga.
Fujimoto and Lin even kept in close contact with MAPPA’s animation team to ensure the characters and scenes exceeded fans’ expectations. What’s great is how the production team was enthusiastic and grateful to have Fujimoto on board to improve the anime.
Lin’s tweet also reveals that Fujimoto has especially influenced the second episode a lot, where Aki and Power are introduced. This episode is a defining one in the story as it’s the beginning of Denji’s job in the Public Safety Devil Hunter association.
Fans had been worried about how they were going about this show, and to their surprise, it turned out better than expected. MAPPA, under Fujimoto’s supervision, even involved some original scenes that were small yet super impactful.
Moreover, given how big of a film junkie Fujimoto is, he and MAPPA created an opening sequence jam-packed with movie references. The OP credits recreate iconic scenes from classics like Pulp Fiction, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Constantine, and more.
Crunchyroll to Stream English Dub for Chainsaw Man this Month
Not many mangaka are involved in the anime’s production as much as Fujimoto is. Another creator who does this is One Piece’s Eichiro Oda, and that’s why the anime has never flopped or bored fans even after 1000 episodes.
Now that I know how much Fujimoto influences Chainsaw Man anime’s making, I’m even more excited about the coming episodes.
