Cobra Kai Drops Date For S3 Premiere, Is Renewed For S4
Netflix has revealed that the immensely popular Cobra Kai has been renewed for a fourth season even before the third has premiered. It looks like Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso’s 30-year long feud will continue for a few more years. The fans do not have to wait too long to watch the two on-screen again.
The streaming giant also dropped a teaser for the third season of Cobra Kai, which will premiere on January 8th, 2021.
In a world filled with reboots and sequels, most of which are pretty forgettable and some which are downright hateable, Cobra Kai has made a mark as one of the few that are worth a watch. It gets the formula for a reboot/sequel just right.
Thirty years after the events of the famous Karate Kid movies of the 1980s, Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso are living different lives- Johnny Lawrence as a poverty-stricken man who does odd jobs to make ends meet, and Daniel LaRusso as a rich car dealership owner. But it seems like none of them has put the past to rest.
William Zabka and Ralph Macchio’s rivalry is a treat to the eyes of the viewers. Their acting and the tight plot of the show makes for an amazing watch. Cobra Kai works because of its brilliant combination of the nostalgic feelings of the old Karate Kid movies and some new twists that the sequel incorporates into its narrative. Fans will remember Johhny Lawrence as the antagonist of the original film. Cobra Kai is narrated by him.
But the show does not only rely on the cult martial arts movies. Even as a standalone show, Cobra Kai is one of the best things to come on screen in recent times.
If you have not caught up with this popular but still massively underrated gem, it is available to stream on Netflix and Youtube Premium.
