Demon Slayer Movie: Mugen Train is set for an Indian release. Odex anime is the owner of the license. The general release of the film is on July 15.
PVR Cinemas’ announced in January that it was in talks with the distributors of Demon Slayer Movie: Mugen Train. They are yet to make an announcement.
The movie began screening in Japan on October 16. It was the number one film for 12 consecutive weeks. It lost the spot to Gintama the Very Final Anime film.
The film sold 28 million tickets for 40 billion yen. This is the first film to cross the 40 billion yen mark. It is still playing in Japanese theaters. The film is the highest-selling film worldwide. It is also the first non-American and non-Hollywood movie to top the yearly box office worldwide.
Mugen Train also surpassed Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away as the highest-earning film in the Japanese box office. It also surpassed Spirited Away as the highest-earning Japanese film worldwide.
The film follows Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke as they board a train to help the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku. Rengoku is on a mission to hunt down a demon who kills demon slayers. However, they are unaware of the train and the dangers that lie in their journey.
The production team is from the television anime series and TOHO and Aniplex are handling the film’s distribution in Japan. The film was released during the pandemic. However, the film received very positive responses and sales.
