Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Film Shatters US Box Office Records on Release!!
The critically acclaimed Japanese anime action film “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the movie: Mugen Train” has been breaking box office records worldwide.
Despite the limited release and strict restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, the film has managed to deliver a stellar performance throughout the globe.
A sequel to the first season of the popular anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”, the film is based on the “Infinity Train” story arc of the original manga of the same name. The story focuses on Tanjiro Kamado and his sister, Nezuko, who must do everything to defeat the demons and save the world from their domination.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the movie: Mugen Train is currently the fourth highest-grossing animated film globally.
The film is just behind third-placed Aladdin and, with the current scenario, can bridge the $34 million gap pretty quickly. The film is already the highest-grossing anime film of all time and the highest-grossing film released in 2020.
Due to its commercial and critical success in Japan, it was submitted for nominations in the Best Animated Feature Film category at the Oscars earlier this year.
Demon Slayer Movie Crosses New Global Box Office Milestone
Funimation, which streams the Demon Slayer movie in the US, announced that the movie is the third highest-grossing anime film in the country.
Currently, the anime film is at the #1 spot in the US Box Office, edging out the recently released Mortal Kombat movie. This is the second anime film to achieve the feat, the first being “Pokemon: The First Movie”.
After the success of the first season of the anime and the anime film, Ufobale Studios Is all set to produce the second season of Demon Slayer. It is scheduled to premiere later in the year.
With so many records broken, the Demon Slayer anime film has now entered the pages of history books worldwide. We congratulate the whole team for their success and hope that the franchise will break even more records in the future!
