Demon Slayer studio Ufotable does its thing. They either don’t care about the anime, it heavily shows in their art style or they take some time with it. They accidentally create a franchise so popular that A-1 pictures had to buy it out to continue milking it. This post contains major Demon Slayer Season 2 Spoilers, Release Date, Updates.
Luckily for us, Demon Slayer looks to be the latter with some gorgeous animation. A fantastic story, and even some impressive stylization. It smashes all kinds of records of both manga & anime, and recently with the movie. It makes one curious, to wonder if it is some kind of groundbreaking series. It’s like reinventing the wheel. The answer is a big NO! DS is pretty standard and sticks to the fundamentals. Can we have Demon Slayer Season 2?
The story makes sense, it’s not complex, also not shallow or watered down. Information isn’t spoon-fed to you but it’s easily accessible. Here’s the lure of the world, some demons exist, it’s not well known. Then there are the demon slayers who killed the demons, it’s pretty straightforward.
No wonder the creators of the anime have officially announced the second season. Although there hasn’t been any news about the official date, the announcement reveals that it will be sometime in this year 2021. 2022 is out of the question!
Demon Slayer Season 2: A Quick Synopsis based on the Trailer
Whenever it comes to the season of the actual TV series of the anime, fans are getting hungry for information. We will give you a synopsis for what DS commits on & season 2 is about. Without further ado, let’s dive into it!
In their next mission, Tanjiro and others accompany the DS corpse Hashira named Tengan Uzui, the second pillar. He is a very eccentric person wanting to complete actions flamboyantly. Tengan has three wives, who act differently towards, compared to regular people. After his wives suspect that demons were hiding in the red-light district, they infiltrate a brothel and go missing. Yes, you heard that right! Tanjiro, Nezuko & Inosuke join Tengan in his mission to find his wives.
This story arc is a bit humorous since Tanjiro and the others end up disguising themselves as women to sneak into the red-light district. We all know, it is nothing new to the series. We’ve seen a lot of humor in this show which gained many fans. Anyway, they face a new threat as they encounter one of the main antagonists of the arc called ‘The Upper Moon Six Docky.’ So, Demon Slayer Season 2 sure does sound exciting!

Demon Slayer: The Manga
If you are one of those people who haven’t even touched the manga, well let me tell you something. If you are impressed by the anime story then, believe me, my friend, the manga arcs are gonna shock you to your core! You’ll see the most powerful pillars & upper demon moon in action. You’ll get to see the angriest version of Nezuko and the most powerful version of Tanjiro back to back in a single arc. We won’t provide you with a spoiler.
The series finale rolls around and that cliffhanger hits hard, dangling the juicy plot canon as you slowly become aware of that gaping void within you. You find yourself yearning for just one more. But, what if I told you that you haven’t even scratched the surface of the DS world? From here on out, it only gets much better!
The story from the get-go has always been about Tanjiro turning his sister back into a human and killing the one responsible for doing it. Both the quality of the art & plot is turned up to be pretty much as soon as season one ends. The storytelling is a lot darker and the art way more compelling. It lends itself better to grittier themes to the point where it gives you goosebumps!
DS Manga: Artistic Illustration
The overall artistic portrayal of the characters is significantly different. The animated adaptation illustrates characters in a style true to present-day anime. However, the manga reaches towards the chubby end of the spectrum with larger eyes relative to their face. In turn, this dials in on the fantasy element, appearing more supernatural, almost ethereal.
For the anime watchers, unfortunately, the series has concluded in the manga. The anime goes to 26 episodes, which comprises the first 5 or 52 chapters. And there are only 205 chapters within the series. It’s also concise and compact as Koyoharu Gotouge had a straightforward vision and stuck to it. The manga ended in 2020. The final chapter 205 of Demon Slayer Manga was released on 17 May 2020. You can visit the website VIZ in English and Manga Plus in English & Spanish.

Demon Slayer Season 1: A Quick Recap!
DS Season 1 strangely enough strikes a good balance of not feeling too rushed. Especially in the beginning where Tanjiro goes from tragic experiences to all of a sudden being a boss going head to head with demons.
It feels rushed, but at the same time, it feels right! From a story point of view, the plot doesn’t feel too compelling. One moment it wants to be dramatic & violent like Akame Ga Kill, next minute it feels like the plot conveniently whips out a skill for Tanjiro to ‘save the day.’ It’s like putting less effort and struggle into the plot, to win the battle. Anime like My Hero Academia, makes you feel the battles a lot more in comparison to this. Sometimes it doesn’t give you enough time to relate to the characters.
DS looks better than it is because it feels like more effort is put into the animation than the mechanics underneath it and making Nezuko as cute as possible. Few weeks passed after the end of DS Season 1. On the last day of the season, a teaser for the DS movie was released. It reveals that the anime will have its story continued in a film. This caused a lot of fans to go crazy because they didn’t announce Demon Slayer Season 2 yet.

Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train
For those who haven’t watched the movie yet, I am going to keep it blunt. If you liked the first season of DS, you’re going to love this movie. With that being said, let’s get into it! The movie starts directly after season 1.
We have Tanjiro and crew on the train, to take some demon action. Now, if you’ve seen the trailer you also know that the antagonists shown in the movie trailer have some kind of ability to put people in a dream state. This causes some interesting sequences, a few are funny while some are a tad annoying. And if you assume that the annoying was Zabetsu, you would be correct!
To put it bluntly, the story pacing could have been a little bit better early on. But once you start getting into more of what’s going on, you find it interesting. It starts to pick up steam! You also see sniffle action going on while watching the movie. There are some deep well thought out scenes, and a lot of emotional impacts. If you guys are looking for some heart-string pulls, this movie has it! It makes you feel connected to the scenes, whether it be action or emotional scenes.
DS The Movie Mugen Train Utilizes the best of the 3D!
The animation in this movie is ridiculous. You still have the art style that you’re familiar with, it’s just cranked up! You can tell the budget was there to support some of the things visually they wanted to do.
They decide to go this route instead of doing the regular traditional anime route. DS utilizes 3D the best out of any of the animes that are out there. In this movie, it shows that again. The train is in 3D and it looks phenomenal! I’m pretty sure by the end of this movie, you’ll find yourself eagerly waiting for Demon Slayer Season 2.
