Dr. Stone Chapter 197 Unveils Petrification Ray’s Power of Negating Death!

Celebrations of successfully reviving Senku’s team are currently underway in Dr. Stone’s chapter 197. However, Senku and Tsukasa’s hidden conversation steals the spotlight from the entire event!

Senku has made one discovery after another regarding the petrification ray. However, this latest discovery is bound to change humankind’s fate forever! The Kingdom of Science has finally found the real-life forbidden fruit.

The Petrification Ray Can Nullify Death!

Yes, you read the title right.

Both Senku and Tsukasa have come up with a hypothesis that the petrification ray can even reverse death. They reached this conclusion after Hyoga came back to life when they poured the revival fluid on him.

In the battle against Stanley’s squad, both Tsukasa and Hyoga had received significant injuries. However, Hyoga’s injury was far worse, and Tsukasa confirms that he had died back then. So how did Hyoga come back alive in chapter 197?

We have witnessed that the petrification ray is capable of healing all types of injuries. In chapter 15, Senku used the de-petrification procedure to revive himself from a near-death experience. With Hyoga’s case at hand, Senku’s theory can finally be proven.

Nonetheless, the petrification ray is proving itself to be the “forbidden fruit” of immortality for mankind.

What are the Limits of the Petrification Ray?

Senku already uses the petrification ray as a substitute for medical procedures. Mirai’s brain death, Kaiseki’s arthritis, and various other wounds have already been cured by it.

However, nullifying death is a phenomenal discovery! Thus arises the question, within how much time after death will the petrification ray work?

Death is a gradual rather than a sudden phenomenon. It takes some time for the brain to be entirely dead after the initial loss of senses or signs of death.

It might be possible that the ray works for as long as the brain is in some kind of working condition or has not been severely damaged. Hyoga might be lucky that he was turned into stone soon after he died.

Someone of Senku’s caliber can find out the limits of the ray. Maybe the next chapter will reveal the time limit of revival after death.

Will Dr. Stanley Discover Petrification Ray’s True Strength?

Senku might revive Dr. Stanley and his companions just how he made friends out of Tsukasa and Hyoga. It is an excellent plan to keep this newly discovered potential a secret.

However, I have a feeling that someone from his kingdom will blurt it out by mistake.

There is a chance that Dr. Stanley will continue on his path of greed. Immortality itself is a huge power, and people can do anything for it, and there is bound to be internal strife later on.

This also raises several questions about Why-man. Is he an immortal human who has used the power of the petrification ray? Is the medusa a curse or a blessing? Will the one who has complete power over the ray be equal to God?
